2019 Fall COY Culinary Competition
Congratulations to Chef’s Logan Christenson and Luke Miller
Another fantastic weekend of Chef of the Year and Junior Chef of the Year competitions were held at South County Technical School on September 14th. While the judges said the scoring was close, there could only be one winner in each of the battles. Congratulations to Chef Logan Christenson for winning the 2020 Chef of the Year, and to Chef Luke Miller for winning the 2020 Junior Chef of the Year. They practiced, trained, performed and prevailed. The chapter is very proud of your accomplishments. Honorable mention goes out to Chef Mike Bush (COY competitor) and Jared Kershaw (Jr COY competitor) for their stiff competition and hard work.
A BIG THANKS go out to Chef Wade Bruhn and South County Technical for their help in planning and hosting this competition!
Plan on attending the Chef of the Year Gala Dinner and Dance on Sunday, November 3rd at 6:00 pm at the Four Seasons Hotel at Lumiere Place Casino (downtown), 999 N 2nd St. Invitations will be mailed to all registered members in early October. Farm to table, 5 course pre set meals, small plates, tasting stations...The dinners are constantly changing and most are available to members and their guests. Some dinners have limited availability; however, many of our "small plate" events are open to the public in large venues and support a great cause!
Fundraisers & Community Outreach
The chapter raises money for scholarships, education and for the community. Chef to Child reaches out to all ages in our school systems and brings adults and children together. Our apprenticeship program gives cooks the opportunity to learn while working from some of the top chefs in Saint Louis.
Top chefs, purveyors, teachers and farmers from around the country come to teach our chapter and foodies alike their craft. Some demonstrations are free and all are geared towards anyone who has the time and passion for this rewarding craft. Join and learn with our dedicated membership.
