Scope-We are a full-service City/Athletic Club with Banquet facilities in our Missouri Room up to 500 seated.  Job requires a hands-on approach to the production and execution of the Pastries under the direction of the Executive Pastry Chef.

Panther Creek Country Club

 

Position description:

The Sous Chef will be responsible for all aspects of the kitchen during the shift.  Oversight to focus on daily production for banquet prep staff, efficient use of staff on the hot and cold line, along with production staff.  Oversight of product delivery and storage of food and beverage items.  Assist in the creation and implementation of a training program for all kitchen employees.  Work with the Executive Chef to create and implement daily specials.  Work with Banquet Sous Chef and Director of Special Events to ensure accurate and quality banquet event execution.  Work with Director of Food & Beverage and Dining Room Manager to relay daily specials and appropriate training, to front of the house staff.  Assist in the constantly monitoring of payroll, revenue and budget.  Adjust operations as needed to achieve goals.  Ensure kitchen is maintained at acceptable health standards.  Responsibilities will include hiring, training, reprimanding and terminating (if necessary) kitchen staff to include food runners.  The Sous Chef will report to the Executive Chef.

Panther Creek Country Club in Springfield is one of the premier country clubs in Central Illinois. Founded in 1992, the Club follows a proud tradition of being a professional championship golfing venue. 

 

Panther Creek Country Club is nestled on 220 acres of beautiful scenery in southwest Springfield. It boasts an 18-hole Hale Irwin designed Championship Golf Course, tennis courts, swimming pool and fitness center.

 

Food and Beverage:

Panther Creek Country Club is a busy family-oriented club with approximately $1.25MM in gross food and beverage revenues. The club offers dining in several locations: Panther Den, Family Grille, Main Dining Room, and Pool Snack Bar.

 

Panther Creek Country Club has substantial special event business in addition to its a la carte service. It offers two ballrooms which have outside patios that are accessible to the 18th-Hole and three additional private dining/meeting rooms.  Hosting an array of events from weddings, to bar/bat mitzvahs and golf tournaments.

 

The Club is in the preparation for hosting a PGA Tour/Web.Com Tour Golf Tournament for the 3rd consecutive year.  The successful energetic and enthusiastic candidate will have the opportunity for growth into an Executive Sous Chef position. A strong command of all food and beverage operations is a must: kitchen operations, event execution, a la carte service, training systems, and outstanding communications skills and membership presence.

 

Membership Details: 

Panther Creek Country Club has a very active membership of over 400+.

 

Salary/Benefits: 

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits will include continuing education expense, paid vacation, health insurance, all in accordance with the Club’s benefit package for all employees.
