The IKA/Culinary Olympics

The "Culinary Olympics," hosted every four years in Germany by the esteemed German Chefs' Association, Verband der Köche Deutschlands e. V. (VKD), stands as a pinnacle event in the culinary world. Known officially in German as the Internationale Kochkunst Ausstellung (IKA) and recognized in English as the IKA/Culinary Olympics, this competition boasts a remarkable 125-year legacy, making it the world's oldest international culinary competition. With over 1,800 participants hailing from 67 countries, chefs from across the globe gather to compete individually or in teams, showcasing not only their culinary creativity but also striving for the coveted Olympic gold.

In this distinguished competition, creative achievements hold equal weight with considerations for cleanliness, hygiene, and sustainability. On-site visitors have the unique opportunity to witness the culinary artistry up close through glass kitchens, while enthusiasts worldwide can follow the experience via the "IKA TV" live stream. For real-time updates, the IKA website offers 24/7 coverage.

The 26th edition of the IKA/Culinary Olympics will unfold in the capital of Baden-Württemberg from February 2 to 7, 2024. Among the 67 participating nations stands the pride of the United States, represented by the ACF Culinary Team USA.
